The Times Union Moran Theater was opened in 1962. It was thoroughly renovated in the beginning season of 1995 before 1999 and after with a fabulous reopening on the 8th of February 1997.
The center Mainly comprises of total three sub-parts namely:
· The Times Moran Theater
· Concert Hall
· The Recital Hall
This hallway is The home to the Jacksonville Symphony and the Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestra and also the FSC Artist Series.
Past Endeavors of the Moran Theatre:
· The hall has been commissioned in the year 1995 as a brand new civic auditorium and a Municipal Coliseum to improve the scenery at the Jacksonville Downtown in the Riverfront.
· In the year of 1957 auditorium that was to be builtas planned along with the site on which it as to be constructed on was purchased from the Seaboard Air Line Railroad.
· Mayor W. Haydon Burns successfully altered the headquarters of the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad from North Carolina to Jacksonville.
· Though after all of the attempts in 1990 that the auditorium constructed started to pick up poor reputation as a result of the poor acoustics.
Moran Theatreor the Times Moran Theatre:
· This theater is the main theatre and the place that's famous for its performances from the Times Union Moran Auditorium.
· The Jackson Symphony is the primary orchestra that performs in the Moran Theatre.
· Considering that the year 2006, the Moran Theatre has become the performance center of the'Extravaganza', which will be a talent showcase for the pupils of the Douglas Anderson School of the Arts.
· Moran theater includes a seating capacity of 3,000and it'd replaced the main auditorium
